WELCOME TO ISSUE 11

The creative juices have been flowing for our theme “The Making Of…” this Autumn/Winter issue. Our cover competition has been a huge success, we were astounded with the number and calibre of entries all blowing their trumpet for Mayfair! Marvel at the creativity of these interpretations of Mayfair from p10, as we also share exclusive photographs from the launch party.

Our cover winner Alicia Harrod, graduated from Arts University Bournemouth with a BA (Hons) Illustration degree in 2022. Her approach to illustration blends the texture of traditional mediums with the streamline capabilities of digital drawing. She was thrilled to receive a hand-made award by renowned sculptor Jill Berelowitz, and have her artwork showcased in the Jack Barclay Bentley Mayfair showroom.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in this competition, our esteemed panel of judges included theatre champion Joyce Hytner OBE, artist Ruth Marten, muralist Stinkfish, optical illusion artist Patrick Hughes, Royal Academician David Mach, and sculptors Alexander Klingspor and Jill Berelowitz.

And a special thanks to Jack Barclay Bentley Mayfair who, as you will see, allowed us to celebrate the moment in true style.

Alongside making merriment, and those talented individuals making artwork, I had the delight of making pizza at LAVO at the new BoTree Hotel (p25). We also have the usual suspects including our insider Local Knowledge highlights on p21. There is also an extra double-page spread about shopping in this issue.

For some inspiration, why not treat yourself to a Royal Academy membership this Autumn/Winter? It’s still one of my favourite spots in Mayfair.
