We are just under two years old, and what better way to celebrate feeling like part of the furniture in Mayfair than theming our spring issue HOME. We hope to inspire you to look at how we all live, through our eyes, from battery power at The Royal Institution and set design with Oliver Messel, to arsenic wallpaper and glorious gold with Merryn Somerset Webb…
Our brilliant cover, which is a mix of photography and illustration, has been created by Geffen Refaeli, who recently arrived in London from Tel Aviv. The whole team immediately fell in love with her charming & quirky style. After a morning darting round Mayfair and meeting locals, Geffen has captured the essence of community in Mayfair down to a T.
Talking of community, St George’s After School Club (which I look after every Tuesday) took meeting their neighbours to a whole new level… with ‘Home’ in mind – we thought hard about what that meant to us, with the overriding sense being the importance of community. As a team we set our sights on meeting and interviewing our neighbours at Jack Barclay Bentley. The afternoon turned out to be one of the most special trips for everyone involved.
